But mainly, the data is unanalyzed.

Only by conservatives.

For example, we take in more immigrants than the EU countries. How does that effect our statistics? Blacks are delinquent in using pre- natal care, even when it is clearly available to them, and have a higher infant mortality rate than whites

You would like to disregard minorities when assessing the health care system. That's why we tuck them away in places like Texas city. So we don't have to look.

Perhaps you would like to exclude the premature deaths that occur as a result of the higher homicide rate in the US. That can jack the numbers up.

Perhaps you'll suggest that the quality of health care in the clinics of Texas City and Watts could be the same that you or I would get at the Mayo Clinic.

No one quite knows why the Japanese exceed other industrialized countries in these indices.

I think the first study on that was done in England in the 16th or 17th century. Perhaps a copy hasn't made it over the pond.

Thus, it is hard to draw vast conclusions from such raw data.

Truly astounding. On the one hand your quite comfortable making conclusions because you think that conservatives understand due process better than anyone else. You can be certain that the current Administration continued the policy of buying excess weapons-grade nuclear materials from the Russians...until you found out that they weren't; then you had to look into what a UN committee was doing to make a judgement [no doubt you did that]; then when Bush re-instated some of the funds in that area..you thought what?...Bush makes the exact right decision at exactly the right time...whenever he makes it.

You're quite comfortable accepting and proffering opinions and op-ed pieces [with no substantiated data] with an occasional touch on anecodote as more than sufficient proof. As long as it agrees with your idealogical position. But when it comes to comprehensive national statistics, you can't deal with it.

In the face of known information that the anthrax likely originated at a US lab and all the known targets at the time were "liberals", you were convinced that jlallen's argument that it was Iraq was persuasive...based on a chance meeting in Prague. The bottom line was you wanted Iraq and you were willing to go through any intellectual manipulation you could manage. Oblivious that you were doing so.

And, of course, quality of life issues are not addressed at all........

Tell me about the quality of life in Texas City. Or the quality of life of the nearly 50% of high school students that never complete high school in DFW.

What you really care about is any potential threat to the quality or cost of the sherry you drink.
