I agree on the first part. Linux has grown a lot in the enterprise space. Do you have any figures for market share from Linux, though? I was still under the impression that it was much less than 10%.

As for Microsoft, it is true that they continue developing their Operating Systems. However, none of their IA-64 builds have reached that "Gold" status that would prompt a serious business to consider them. Microsoft at least has a tangible market share in the enterprise segment, so such a "gold" release would be quite beneficial for raising Itanium demand.
