A technical view…

I believe NTAP put in a significant bottom back in Sept01. I called that bottom on the MDD thread on IHub going long at (6.05). The following move rallied to near the top of the Nov00 gap-up area 28.28 (as expected) and then turned back down. Per my technicals, I expect the current down turn to only retrace part of the Sept01 rally before it turns back up. In order for the following scenario to play out (per my technicals) the price action needs to remain above NTAP’s 200-day SMA. I am not talking about just penetrations or breaches.

The “next” major resistance to the rise off the Sept01 low will be the 23.6 Fib retrace area (40.63) of the decline from the all time high in 2000 into the Sept01 low. Of course, the price action must first over come the Jan02 (27.95) high, which is near the top of the Nov00 gap-up region (28.28).

As always time will tell, price action points, price patterns and trend lines to keep an eye on…
