I think if Lindh renounced his US citizenship, he'd be in the same situation as the Al Qaeda guys - unless he was a citizen of Afghanistan, in which case he'd be just another low level Taliban guy. Who, you notice, are not getting brought over to Gitmo - they are being sent home and told to lay down their arms and make nice. Kind of makes me feel sorry for Lindh. He's certainly no Al Qaeda big shot.
