One aspect this report didn't mention was the potential of growth in the security business post 911. They have the weight to to take on major projects and are already positioned as major security providors in airports and commercial buildings. When you look at the charts of flea-sized players that have been given stratospheric valuations but lack the capacity to really take on major business in this feild...it's amazing that TYCO doesn't even seem to be on the screen. This will be another key advantage of the breakup...the potentials in the security and electronics business ....indeed in each of the businesses will be given more scrutiny and valued more on pure-play potentials.
