The Pentium 4 already scales high enough in frequency so that it can outperform current McKinley performance estimates in single processor SPECint scores (I assume that this is what you meant by scaling?). But the question is whether anyone will care about this when they plan to look for 4-way or 8-way servers that scale up, rather than scale out. SPEC is hardly a good benchmark to use for enterprise environments, since scalability with multiple processors is not taken into account.
