I was at a party tonight that was chock full o' people from Bloomberg...

Everyone there was laughing at the state of the market now... apparently it's common knowledge around those who follow the brokers and the markets that something is seriously wrong. (among those who work at bloomberg, everyone else was either clueless or had more interest in the vanilla Stoli)

One of my best girlfriends was telling me that the ticker going around Bloomberg today was all about enron's latest suicide and it was top of the press today, all day. They expect this whole thing to blow up even bigger and get really, really nasty.

4/5 people said how they've all stopped trading stocks since they've lost so much money. "i made 100k and lost it all within a year- and then some" type stories...

All of this goes against my recent chat with Fidelity about their bear mutual funds. They say they get about 1-3 calls a month about which funds are best to short the nasdaq. "people aren't that interested in how to play any downside", they said.

I don't know what this all means in the big picture, but things are fishy out there in nasdaq-land.

Good party, though.
