Why would AOL be interested in selling support of an OS?

I'm not saying they will but it is worth consideration.

Everybody has to change with the times and move into areas where there is growth and profit. There is a lot of growth in Linux and by popularizing it you put roadblocks in the path of your enemy.

MSFT is trying hard to get into broadband delivery, dominate the web server business, do satellite delivery, etc.

I am sure AOL is not going to roll over and play dead.

Let's not forget that AOL bought a monster media business. People could make the argument "Why did they do that? It doesn't add to their subscribers."
