there are days in this place, especially in
autumn and wintertime, when the clouds sit
blocking the sun, and the rain falls until
ýou feel as if the sound of it hitting the

a sound driving you into yourself, hammering at
your head until your knees begin to feel as if
they're going to buckle.

just when you're sure you can't stand another
minute of water, cloud, mist, and fog, the
wind shifts, the sky clears, and you'd almost
think it was springtime.
