That is a simplistic and frightening idea. If all moral resolve and awareness must stem from immoral action, then all lives are doomed. Their deaths did not "cause" the bombs not to be used. The doomsday clock has been close to midnight several times. MAD has been the biggest deterrent thus far...
All forms of killing which the human race have discovered over millenia have been reused to serve the goals and needs of particular of our brothers and sisters. And this is why the world is truly walking a tight rope. If we stop using the full extent of our viciousness and hubris...it will be for the first time in history. |
