The American public never doubted Hirohito's complicity in the war.

Contrary to the elitists' scorn for "public opinion," often the common sense of the man and woman on the street counts for more than "expert" opinion, which usually reflects some hidden agenda. In 1945, the American public viewed Hirohito as a war criminal and they undoubtedly had that right.

What may now be taking place is not so much "revisionism," as it is the undoing of fifty years of creeping revisionism.
