To All… I am looking for some "Guidance" regarding brokers... I’m basically new to the short term trading seen (since October of 2001). I have been trading stocks/mutual funds for the past 15 years and now have the time available to spend on "short term trades"

My question is this - What are some of the better online brokers in terms of reliability and commission rates?

I have been using Fidelity most of the time for long-term trades, however, made approximately 60 trades last quarter and at $15 bucks a pop, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize I am spending to much on trades.

I have been reading up on IB (Chicago-based Interactive Brokers) and wander if the rates are too good to be true?? What’s the catch??

Thanks to all in advance.

Jeff
