Sorry. No comparison is possible between the Clinton investgations and the ENRON mess.
There is no evidence that Bush did anything improper, in fact, all evidence to date indicates the Administration did exactly what was correct when the call came form ENRON, to wit, NOTHING.
With Clinton there was evidence of fraud, tax crimes and a coverup in the Whitewater dealing. The IC obtained over a dozen convictions of Clinton associates/cornies, etc., including the sitting governor of Arkansas, Jim Guy Tucker. More importantly, there was direct evidence of the President's attempt to deprive another citizen of her day in court by providing untruthful testimony. The sitting President of the US (who took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution and laws of the US) was sanctioned by a federal court for lying and submitting false evidence (Lewinski's doctored affidavit), forced to settle his sex harrassment case for six figures, was impeached and lost his law license for five years.
Sorry, Ann. There's no comparison at all......

I beg to differ.......it's the same situation--ugly partisan politics at its worst.
I voted for both Geo Bush Sr. & Geo W. but I'm not a blind partisan. In fact, I voted for Pres Reagan's re-election.
However, I believe nothing was proven beyond a doubt in the Whitewater uproar other than the fact Pres Clinton has wandering eye & did not want to get caught once again by his wife(or History book writers).
The American people do not elect thieves & traitors. Evidently, they sometimes are gullible enough to elect a skirt chaser.
The political parties are both trying to use legal circuses as a strategy to win the next presidential election.....it's disgusting. |
