Thanks Raymond, I appreciate the sincerity which comes through in your post.

Perhaps I should clarify why I find Gilder interesting, thought provoking etc. It's not because of his stock tips. I've actually never subscribed to his Newsletter and been privy to his latest stock tip. It's because I believe he has challenged conventional wisdom over the years, and been right in a number of important areas.

The one I remember most, which had profound influence on the economy was in bandwith availability. I remember it like it was yesterday. The year was 1995. The internet was still in its infancy and busy signals at places like AOL and other ISP's were running rampant. Many predicted the demise of the internet due to unsustainable bandwith availability. Gilder challenged that assumption, and boldly stated we would have a *glut* of bandwith in the not too distance future, and it would get cheaper and cheaper, not more expensive as many were predicting.

His predictions have been proven right on the money. Companies which provide bandwith are now choking on available supply.

That's just one example. But a very important one in my eyes.

Best regards,

Michael

p.s. Did you know Gilder used to be an SI participant?
