Elmer Re.... You guys trash real live systems running real live apps on real live operating systems on real live silicon processed on a real live production process. Vapor is great and real systems are trash.<<<<<<<<<<<

In this case, a lot of people including Dell, agree with us. Or are you still trying to claim that Itanium is selling like hotcakes. No you say, but Merced will. If Intel really was confidant of that, why the backup plan at Yawmill. If your good, you don't need a backup. Did AMd have a backup for Athlon, or Hammer?

The XP which AMD can only make in "10s of thousands" <<<<<<<

When you are trying to make a point, you should at least try to be close to the truth. AMD made 4.5 million Athlons last quarter, most of them xp. Why the lying??

AMD's only copper fab has major yield problems but we'll just chalk that up to half the fab being used for process development. <<<<<<<

If yields at Dresden are so bad, why did Dresden get the award for bing the best fab in the world by Semiconductor international. Why didn't one of Intel's wonder fabs receive the award? Why did the Athlon receive the award for CPU of the yr, by PC World if P4 was so much better. In fact, I asked you this same question in a post a month ago, which you haven't answered. Could you do so now. http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=16854931

With "world class yields" but only half capacity AMD is doomed.<<<<<<<<<

Who are you trying to kid? It is much better to have world class yields running at half capacity than it is to have full capacity with half, or 50% of world class yields. That is the guy who is doomed. When sales increase, all Amd has to do is up the production cycle to 60% capacity. What will Intel do when sales go up? Try to increase yields or build more fabs. Obviously Intels answer is to build more fabs, but better yields would do the trick, cheaper. Then maybe Intel could have one of their fabs be recognized as the best in the world.
