COGNICASE Wins US$1.3 Million Contract With City of New York's Administration for Children's Services
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--OCTOBER 25, 2001 - 10:43 EDT COGNICASE Inc. (Nasdaq: "COGI"), a provider of advanced transaction processing solutions and Internet-based applications, today announced the awarding of a US$1.3 million contract with the City of New York's Administration for Children's Services (ACS).
This contract is for the second phase of the HIPS (Health Information Profiling System) project. The first phase of this project, also provided by COGNICASE, involved the creation and implementation of a thin client, browser-based capability to enable ACS healthcare services staff to enter and query information about a child's health. This included the functionality of summarizing health status and care information, providing access to healthcare information for the people managing a child's care, transferring critical healthcare information between agencies when needed and supplying information on key providers.
The second phase will expand the system's capabilities to include appointment recording and tracking, viewing and tracking of the medical history including information about medications and immunizations, greater reporting capabilities, interfacing to other systems and the capability of scanning and integrating medical forms into a child's medical records in HIPS. This phase of the project is scheduled to run for approximately one year.
"This contract further solidifies our relationship with New York City's major government agencies. We are pleased to use our know-how to help ACS accomplish its mission of ensuring the safety and well-being of those children entrusted to their care," stated COGNICASE Chairman of the Board, President and CEO Ronald Brisebois.
