Scott...at least you don't mince words with your opinions.

Your revelations about the long term performance of the semi-equipment stocks would indicate that these are vehicles ideal for short term (1 to 6 months) trades. They do have volatility and that is more profitable than buy and hold. If you buy a good company like CYMI and ASML and just hold it, you will end up with a lot time invested with little profits to show for it.

I have been in and out of all of these stocks and have come to the conclusion that none of this is forever.

The potential movers going forward are those companies that are giving the best guidance for the next couple of quarters. No point in taking a longer viewpoint, in a whimsical market that can love a stock one week and kill it the next six weeks.
