I started this thread in response to the huge amount of daily/weekly short-term market prognosticating I see all over SI. I have concluded it's a game that entertains a lot of folks on an Internet chat board; so far, we haven't seen anyone who can prove they do it reliably. Thomas Carr's Befriend the Trend trading has a proven 70% success rate doing overnight swing trades in individual stocks since September 11. That's the only record I have seen so far that would qualify. But he doesn't trade indexes. The rest are wordy kinda sorta maybe right here but this changed then the new trend hit so we shifted the forecast and it was right within a month except for the unexpected countertrend but we factored that into the reiterated model with the new prediction for the next quarter..... If you like, give us a list of specific dates this year (or just this quarter) with likely highs and lows for the NASDAQ and we will check the results when the time period expires.
