Take Care enigma....
Understanding liberal socialism can be summed up in a few words. "I hate conservative Republicans".
Because, when you really examine their positions, they aren't really for much of anything. Just against change, progress, freedom and individual liberty.
All the things Conservatives value, they are against.
Their group think mentality can be summed up by their blatant use of the term "Uncle Tom". And the sum total of their ideas can be encapsulated in 7.7 second sound bites.
The only hope socialists have is to rein in free speech. (that's why so many of their threads are censored), because when you examine their ideas and assumptions directly, they are vacant.
The model they truly want America to follow is the model of the former Soviet Union. A place where free ideas are censored, where government controls all business, where your path as a citizen is pre-ordained at birth. Where the elite ruling class receives all the perks, while the rest of the citizens live comfortable but dreary lives.
Many of them honestly believe the leaders of the former Soviet Union were simply not as smart as they are, and they could make it work much better.
Simple minded uneducated people shouldn't be free to risk their capital in the stock market, struggle to look for jobs, or decide which school to send their kids to. We, the intelligent ruling class can take those burdens off your simple minded shoulders. Our government utopia is really what you want.
They won't admit this of course, because most americans would reject their model outright. So they have to cloak it beneath a hatred of conservatives, cloak it beneath a contempt of business, and cloak it beneath a phony outrage of everything President Bush does. |
