Just something to keep in mind when you see an op-ed piece that asserts that American-style restaurants are taking over Europe.
I thought the French farmers had them all blockaded. :-)

Though all the local restaurants were doing a very nice business.
Not surprising at all. There will always be a market for good food. As opposed to fast and/or unhealthy food.

Barcelona shopping makes Manhattan look like a mini-mart [and I have been shoppin in Manhattan].
Is this characteristic of Barcelona in particular or Spain in general? And how does it compare to, say, London?
