Re: Insider selling

All I can say to that is that I, personally, am not concerned at all, and I still think the insider selling does not reflect the underlying business potential or growth. It is nothing new with Sun as top management is simply getting the rewards of their work. I have no idea why they want to sell at this time. However I know that I would start selling my shares also if I had gained 400-500% return regardless of how much more potential my shares had to go even higher! At some point I do really want to enjoy the gain and as difficult as it can be, there must be a limit to one's greed to some extend!

Also let me share you the following experience I had back in January of 1995. I had just bought Comapq (CPQ) at around $41/shr. A couple of days after I bought the stock there were news on CPQ insider selling huge number of shares. The stock did not react and actually went up to $44-$45 and stayed there till the earnings came out. The earnings were 1 cents below expectations and CPQ got punished harshly and went down to $36/shr. It got worse after it was reported that the CEO/President of company (Mr. Pfeiffer) had listed to dump all his entire position in the company. The stock then went to as low as $30/shr. At the end of that quarter the stock started to move up gradually and it went over $46/shr at which time I decided to sell strictly based on the fact that insiders had sold in huge numbers! Well, 2 years later and the stock has more than doubled! And to this date everytime I see CPQ ticker and its price I kick myself for selling without looking at company's fundamentals and business model.
