Why won't they hit again, if they are still viable. Based on the reaction to the last attack, it would be in there interest to do it again. Our economy was totally disrupted, we are barricaded ourselves in, we are fixated on spending ourselves broke and we have as yet really done no systemic changes to stop another attack. So it is not a democratic or republican position, so far Bush and co have dictated and without so much as a whisper of contention. We are still fighting the cold war and our solution to terrorism reflects that mentality. The Capitol Building is like a fortress, our country is being transformed from free and beautiful to one of barricaded areas.
So what is the democratic position vs the war time position. Since there is no WAR, no POW's and NO WAR declaration, the is NO WAR.
Building a shield will be useless for at least ten years and even then it's usefulness is in question. We should be building a worldwide coalition of countries working together. However, all foreign countries recognize tha our current position is totally selfish. Since we are so strong we will be appeased by everyone for the time being in hopes a less hawkish and more worldly stance comes from the new leadership. My guess is that this administration will unravel before the four years is up and will start another war before then, but support will wear thin.
As far as Al Queada, we cannot even get Bin Laden, so what does that tell you? Sorry my message is not what you want to hear. |
