EP, That is a reasonable estimate, tens of thousands per day 1 million per month is 33,000 per day. I would expect them to get to 100,000 per day before the end of January to fill the demand.

Went with my son today to a gamers arcade. 60 all new AMD 1800 XP machines with 21" screens, fully filled playing network games(mainly counterstrike).
This place charges $3 per hour Sat/Sun and $2 per hour during the datime and up to $3 from 4 PM until midnight and then $1.50 from midnight to 8 AM. They run 24/7 and have about a 75% occupancy rate on average. 100% all weekend.
These machines make their money and payout in a a months' time. They upgrade the Mobo and Video cards every 3 momths. Apparently all the gamers arcades are going to the XP all over the country.

can anyone verify this in their area.
I am in Toronto.

Fanaatic gamers arcades are all AMD clones. not a Dell/IBM/Compaq in the lot.

The game arcade market is one the the largest and fastest growing markets in the world and it is one that AMD dominates.
There are 600 video game arcades in Toronto alone with an average of 40 machines(my son is a game hound, I do not have the reflexes any more)

With the metro area being 2.5 million and extending that to the NA area of 300 Million that scales out to about 120 x 600 x 40 = 2.8 million arcade machines in NA. Lets cut that to 40% of the scale out = 1 million.
That is a viable AMD market right there if they all change their mobos every 3 months.

True it is only the fanatic ones that compete to be at the very front and change their mobos that often, some may do it every 6 months, some annually.

Now extend that over the world.

Now you see why AMD caters to the gamers
