The competitor is the Japanese laser company that was mentioned in an earlier post. The big IF, is if the company gets its act in order. The CYMI proponents say it is too difficult and therefore very unlikely. I don't know what the chance is, but it is part of my concern. When you say "safest and best," you leave out the key word "technology." The "fire sale" prices, and many said they were too high when I got them while many others said they were two low when I was waiting for them, help me deal with the technology and market risks. I don't have a gut feel for the value of MPT. I believe risks to MPT are volatility (high beta). Risks in technology mean out of business potential. If I can't get a handle on the "opportunity costs," maybe thay are only theoretical.
