hmaly: How so???? AMD can make all models of its XP at a greater volume than "tens of thousand"
AMD gave no production figures for the XP2000
Whatever he is trying to say, it isn't based upon the statements made by Hector in the 4q-01 CC.
Actually, you are wrong. Hector clearly stated that they had shipped 10s of thousands XP2000+ in Q4:
<Dan Scovel / Needham&Co> Thank you, again, good quarter. Hector, in your opening remarks, you commented right after you commented about microprocessor units at 7.8 million, you made some sort of comment about XP in tens of thousands, can you repeat that please?
<Hector> Yes, in the fourth quarter, we shipped tens of thousands of model 2000 XP.

when Elmer refers to the high volume NW, is he referring to all NW models; the 1.9,2.0 and the 2.2 ghz models, or is he referring to the high vol. model NW, in which case he is referring to the 2.0 ghz NW, but the 2.0 NW is slower than the XP2000.
I don't know which NW Elmer was referring to, but I would assume the 2 or 2.2 GHz model. I didn't know there was a 1.9 GHz model and haven't seen it referenced anywhere yet.
Regardless, depending on your choice of performance metric, Elmer's comment that the XP2000+ is almost as fast as one of those NWs is not unreasonable.
