Hi Matt, A broker with many clients long the stock was aware of the very large audience for the conference call, due to the web exposure. He beleives that too many had never heard one before and didn't know what to expect. In his experience, conf calls are very low key, with the disclaimers etc. and Valence more cautious than most. When it didn't sound very upbeat, they sensed something was wrong and panicked.

It makes a lot of sense. He personally rated the conf. call a plus.
