<No need to reinvent the wheel, IMO.. They have already spent a large sum of money building their "all you can eat" format, and marketing..

Seems kind of wasteful to ditch it and start over trying to compete with Verizon and SprintPCS?

PCSTEL, that assumes that Verizon and Sprint don't undercut Leap in the cities. Then Cricket would be the high-priced service, but without the benefit of roaming.

How could Sprint do that you wonder? Easy, increase utilization from 25% to 70%.

How could Sprint do that you wonder? Easy, charge according to loading. Make it free when loading is less than 40% [middle of the night] then increase from there to $100 a minute for voice or $20 a megabyte to avoid excessive demand at peak times. Then, even when the WTC is hit, people will be able to get a call through straight away.

A communication service needs to work ANY time, not just on a sunny day when everyone is feeling dopey. It's when things are under pressure than character shows. Many hoax calls to 111 are to clear some space so that people can get a connection [so I hear].

Competition hasn't even got warmed up in the wireless communications market. Heck, the technology doesn't even work. Let's see what happens in 5 years.
