Bob, I imagine that isn't quite what Tice's position truly is. Short sales do not have to be reported and thus funds almost never report their short position. In addition, most larger funds actually buy 100 shares of a stock that they're short so that they can get the same rights as other shareholders. Note that for most funds, all long positions are reportable. Thus, what the reporter probably saw was the 100 share long position of TYC, which is indicative of a much larger short position.
