Gottfried, yes, I'm trying to "time the market" using various indicators. My personal style simply doesn't allow me to buy stocks and "sit on them" as some financial experts suggest.

Also, I don't like to diversify, as financial experts recommend. Mainly because as you diversify, you reduce your risk - but you also reduce the potential for big gains. I guess it's all a matter of risk tolerance and adopting an approach that seems comfortable.

Being from Texas, I come from an environment where risk is well tolerated. Historically it's a state driven by cotton farming, cattle raising, shootouts, and wildcat oil well drilling. All high-risk, adventurous activities. Perhaps that history contributes to my approach to the market.

I say this in view of a fascinating article in the July 7th issue of U.S. News and World Report magazine titled "The Geography of Justice", page 21, by Edward Lazarus. It talks about how our Supreme Court justices are influenced by where they came from. Dynamite article. A "must read". Given your interesting background, I think you would - definitely apprecitate this article!
