CULTS:

In the piece in question he is distinguishing between
the "esoteric" Teaching of Jesus and the popular "exoteric" conception, the latter being referred to as a "cult"

From time to time he refers to his followers as a "cult"
when they are acting as "believers" and not as those "living" the Way.

At other times he says we are (as a group) are NOT a cult
because "a cult is easy to get into, but hard to get out of", whereas our group is "hard to get into, and easy to get out of".

Adi Da does not gratuitously insult anyone, but he does not
hesitate to criticize what he finds false. And he is NEVER
careless. Really!

But Bill I accept the fact that you found the statement offensive, but why? You do not number yourself amongst
those described, do you?

If you are interested in what he has to say about cults,
I will dig out something for you.

And yes, I object to being called a "cult-member" when
people know nothing of what is involved in this Way and are
using the term as a pejorative, and when what they are really saying is "he sees things differently than I do",
and they find that threatening to their viewpoint.

Namaste!

Jim
