Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service ...SONOMA AND MARIN COUNTIES-NAPA COUNTY-SAN MATEO COUNTY- SANTA CRUZ COUNTY-ALAMEDA AND CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES- SANTA CLARA COUNTY-COASTAL MONTEREY COUNTY- SALINAS VALLEY/INTERIOR MONTEREY COUNTY/SAN BENITO COUNTY- 453 PM PST MON JAN 28 2002 ...THE SNOW ADVISORY HAS BEEN EXPANDED FOR TONIGHT TO INCLUDE ALL OF THE SAN FRANCISCO AND MONTEREY BAY AREAS EXCEPT SAN FRANCISCO CITY... VERY MOIST UNSTABLE AIR CONTINUES TO PRODUCE SCATTERED SHOWERS OVER THE CENTRAL COAST. SNOW LEVELS ARE ABOUT 1000 FEET IN THE SHOWERS... WITH SNOW LEVELS DROPPING TO NEAR 500 FEET IN THE HEAVIEST SHOWERS. SOME SNOWFLAKES COULD EVEN BE SEEN AS LOW AS SEA LEVEL...BUT WITH LITTLE IF ANY ACCUMULATIONS. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE ABOVE 1500 FEET TONIGHT.
