Dear Gary,

Although I do not know you, I hope you will not mind if I take the liberty of calling you Gary. I am hoping to meet you someday so I can personally congratulate you on a job well done at Global Crossing. You make me proud to be an American and I want you to know that I think you represent the best that this great country can produce. I am sure that your children will be proud of you once they fully understand all that you have done, and may I say, will continue to do to all the people that invested in Global Crossing, and who put their trust in your honesty and forthrightness. I know that you have made every effort to insure that you will continue to play an important, but albeit, not too visible role, in the new company which is soon to emerge. I also know that I am not alone when I wish you get what you certainly deserve.
