Funny how you never see the trillion dollars of debt is what has been spent on social programs with no results. LBJ's dream was a transfer of the hard earned money of the working people to a bloated bureaucracy. The same percentage of poor existed then as now. There would be no deficits and we would have the most staggering economy if not for the drain from this wealth transfer. The government once took less than 4 % of a person's earnings. But in your fantasy world spending 100 dollars on a hammer is just peachy
