Pete, <Besides AMD is already 8 way SMP ccNUMA using someone else's switch.>

I missed this one. Can you show it to me?

<The fact that the 762 can switch between two FSB, actually 2 P2P links, shows that AMD developed something that Intel had to go out of their house to obtain.>

Gee, all it took for Intel to go to 8-way was a two-FSB bridge. And it still took quite a while before Profusion was released.

Because of the P2P interface, AMD needed a two-FSB bridge just to go to 2-way. And it took them quite a while just to get there. Think about how long it will take them to get to 8-way. (Hint: It'll take more than just a mere 8-way switch, which itself isn't trivial. I might know more about this than you do.)
