Good Morning Brian,

No Doubt About It !!!

Texas Instruments has logged its second sequential increase in DSP sales - up 10%.They note they are stronger coming out of this turn down than they were going out. They say their customers have worked down their inventory and are now ordering.Their inventory is the lowest in three years. They do say communication will need another quarter, however SBC rolls out the new phone services today and ATT,and Cingular are close behind-pending the upgrading of their network.Next streaming video over phone lines - the technology is there - just need to define the commercial need and how to charge for it (SBSE already has won the design wins - its just a matter of the Rbocs and wireless comp to start the upgrades.

It all adds up to the turn is on.The degree to which Mr.Market anticipates the turn is the question.Remember Q4 of 98 - earnings were horrible but backlogs grew and the prices were on the uptrend after Oct 8th and never looked back.

We see Q2 as slow, but a ground swell of activity cannot be measured.Read that to mean they're picking up the phone when Intel calls and oh yea they've got Texas Instruments on hold.

Any dip will be short and a gift.I'm thinking it is time to be aggressive.A dip would make it easy to be aggressive and sideways will take more Cahones.

All in all - by August we'll be wishing we had maxed out our purchasing power back in feb/march.

Pheeuuuwwww - I think we just outlived another killer bear.

Thanks for the help pard.gggg

Bob

Brooks sold 39% of their equip to 300mm lines.
Lam's business is with the strong American and Taiwanese companies.

I think what will be the big surprise is how profitable these companies will be with very marginal increases in business activity!!!!

That is what will move the attitude swings from squeezed bear to America's growing again!

Not a question of IF just a question of WHEN.
