Philip: Re: PTUS ...

I wish folks like Mr. Scarpelli of CIBER would specify which tools are included in his statement: "I've looked at all the tools out there that have gotten all the hype ... and it's all just hype".

Speaking of hype, he also says: "The Peritus software is far and away the best tool". I find that hard to believe. There are only so many things you can do with a piece of software. There's no way this is a gigantic leap over the capabilities of the other tools available.

And people wonder why I'm so skeptical ..

I'd like to know: which tools did he examine, which did he dismiss without even looking at them, and which ones should be ranked in the same "tier" as PTUS' (at least according to his ranking).

Also, I wonder if his compensation might somehow be influenced by the success of the Y2K partners he has signed up? That might have a tendency to blur his vision somewhat.

Sigh ...

Note that this is not intended to be positive or negative towards PTUS ... just my reaction to the press release.
