Ah, but you forget one very important fact, IMO -- many, if not the majority, of these companies (and many more to come), got caught up in "the love of money" at ANY expense over the past 5-10 years. This thing called "the stock market" has become the MOST important industry in America. Accounting has been manipulated to the point of being a JOKE -- all in a effort to keep America's most important industry climbing. This is a foundation built on sand, my friend. And there are MANY, MANY things that now stand at the door knocking which could crumble this house of love (of money). Every time someone opens a door, the sand washes a little more away. Shady accounting, derivatives, political favors, foreign favors for secrets, blatant manipulation of investors by insiders, debt out the wazzoo at every level, terrorist organizations, the Middle East crisis, government coverups -- I could go on forever.
There is a famous saying that has always made fools out of those who use it -- "it is different this time". Guess what? We are at a point in history where that phrase is now truth. But even with all of these man-made, and man-created troubles, I think they are all just "icing on the cake", as it were. I believe that America's sins (I just lost about 98% of those reading with that word and probably broke Zeev's rules - I apologize, but feel a warning of what is coming is in order), will be what cripples her. Specifically, America's attitudes toward abortion and gays -- is ANYONE still reading now? I know a lot, if not most, of Americans view the Bible as a "story" book written by mere men. Of course, I think that anyone who cannot see the remarkable predictions unfolding, cannot be very wise anyway. Be that as it may, the Bible is really specific about God's attitude toward the gay lifestyle and killing, and especially children.
I do not think God is going to "zap" America. I do not think Sept. 11 was a judgment on America. I DO think God has withdrawn the EXTRA protection afforded to America because of it roots and its primarily good behavior up to about 30 years ago. Without that hand of protection, the elements and the internal corruption will destroy any country. Look around the world at other "godless" nations. Where do they all end up?
I made a prediction earlier, that 2002 could be the worst natural disaster year on record. This is the one thing which man has no control over.
If I were placing my future and future security and happiness on America's stock market, I would be most concerned. I truly think the financial crippling has begun. This time, "it is different".
