Well, uh, no, I can't.

Which is why, if complexity and accounting were truly the issue here, that the solution would be simple.

Tyco doesn't have to break up into 4 pieces and incur the huge cost to do so. All Tyco has to do is increase the disclosure to that level. It would save hundreds of millions of dollars, it would preserve the supposed synergies that Kozlowski frequently trumpeted, and if the books are as clean as Tyco maintains, it would also prove the shorts wrong.

Although after today's action I wonder how much short interest was covered.
