Northwood Pentium 4s are in short supply

Tech Data allocates them
By Mike Magee, 30/01/2002 11:47:44 BST

DELL MAY BE able to supply systems using "Northwood" Pentium 4s at 2GHz and 2.2GHz, but one of the biggest distributors in the US is still finding it hard to supply the parts. More at:
theinquirer.net

High demand or low supply?

Overclockers are finding that Northwood clock throttles a lot more often than Willamette did - evidently there is more of a hot spot problem as the circuits are moved closer together. That information, together with the information that Northwoods are going to be introduced at new, lower, speeds may mean that a lot of chips aren't looking so good in final test.
