Standing ovations are brief moment in history that relate to absolutely nothing....

I suggest that you read "When the Cheering Stopped"....A book about Woodrow Wilson who at the time was the the most cheered person in history. About 5 million Frenchmen turned out for his visit to France after WW 1. It was the same all over the world. "King Woody" as he was called in this country came to a sad end.

Standing Ovations are like one liners on the Jay Leno show, they just don't have any lasting impact.
