But since you asked for my opinion, I don't see how the term can apply to us.

Unless trading for a profit can, via some tortured logic be defined as illegal and immoral. Who knows. Many in the politically correct socialist left have long questioned the efficacy of working hard, no matter how ethical and honestly you go about doing so, IF the result is great success and amassing a lot more money than the average voting citizen.

I call that, "The Politics Of Envy". An example we're all familiar with is the ankle bite gang.

But let's jump back to the macro stage. In the mid 19th Century, French socialist Pierre Proudhon declared: "Property is theft".

That sentiment may be more subliminal in todays less successful and envious. And it is they who are the targets of politicians panderers on the left who are use every dark episode in capitalism to stampede these herds of resentful ones into supporting further reductions in individual rights and burdening the private economy in favor of more government & higher taxes. But, their issues and actions all point back to intellectual roots in European Socialism. It's an area I explored extensively in my undergraduate years. So the perspective has long been with me. As a moderate conservative I find it very valuable when I make distinctions today about the socio-political behavior from the majority composition of certain web threads to the political gimmicks our "leaders" use to buy votes and control public opinion.

So much for digression, justified though I think it is.

The term "whore" is reserved for illegal, immoral and unethical activity. Last time I looked we run a pretty clean shop. When you're very successful there are always going to be a few mud slingers among the envious and less successful. What's the old saying? "You never get rich playing another man's game."

So, I don't get into extended exchanges with people who have nothing to offer If I'm attacked OR there's any extraordinarily instructive example of how NOT to trade?<vbg> One or two posts and they're off my radar screen.

I'd rather focus on the pleasure of being a successful independent trader and portfolio manager. This biz has been a joy for many years. As is my long time penchant for sardonic depictions of the devious crooks on WS and in D.C.
