FCC to keep deposit money until Supreme Court rules
Message 16979031

I suspected the FCC would do this. With the government making several million a week just in interest, it will be profitable for them to force the depositors to sue them for the return of the money. The interest they will earn will more than cover the legal costs they will incur during the delay. Every week they can delay makes them several million more. The depositing carriers are loath to do anything to anger the FCC because they need to keep relations with the regulator amicable. They will be slow to press hard with their demands for the money. They won't want to risk pissing off the FCC and getting the NextWave treatment in regulatory decisions. JMHO.
