Why do you find that a subject worthy of mockery and disdain?

I mock a reporter who says she started out to investigate Japanese military behavior, and then says she was shocked to discover atrocities committed by the Marines ... and who then cites as examples of "atrocities" defilement of corpses (BTW, a dead body is a corpse, and I don't know why you seem to find the word offensive). I mock the likening of such defilement of the dead, to wholesale atrocities of every imaginable variety perpetrated upon the living, military and civilian.

Do I disbelieve that our Marines extracted gold fillings from live Japanese soldiers? Yes. Unless they were providing dental care to soldiers in captivity ... of which there were very few, as the Japanese rarely surrendered.

Do I believe that Marines cut off the heads of Japanese soldiers? Yes, if that was on rare occasions an effective means of killing them. They also burned them to death with flame-throwers. They ran over them with tanks. They disemboweled them with knives in hand-to-hand combat. They killed them any way they could, because that was their job. That's what you do in war as a soldier ... you kill the enemy's soldiers.

If you don't want your soldiers to be killed then it's not a good idea to start a war.
