Hi GM, re: chicken noodle

<...Are you presenting them mainly as an exercise or
are you genuinely concerned for your own future?>

I prefer to say that we are all familiar with the adage
(paraphrased) "Those who don't remember the past, are
doomed to repeat it."

Our market is defying gravity right now. And
some personal preparatory steps can be taken. So many
voices seem to be saying, "Can't happen here" and that is
what really scares me. "It could never happen" is one of
the best precursors to danger. So I'm wondering if some
ostrich mentality is afoot. I'm just pointing out econ
principles that justify my case.

You, Gottfried, are well aware of Loma Prieta from a few
years ago, as well as the '1906'. If you knew some real
geologists, would you not be the least bit inquisitive
about 'the next one'? Sure, there's nothing you can do
about it. But wouldn't you be suspicious if somebody told
you, "It can never happen again"?
