I see all human beings as potentially lying, cheating and stealing. Including those who work for governments. Maybe more of those who work for governments because they have more power, and power corrupts, and also because people who work for governments tend to be more naive, or at least more ignorant.
My guess is that Enron, and maybe J.P. Morgan, broke laws that are already on the books, as they say. If people are going to commit illegal acts, it's hard to stop them before the fact.
Let the lawyers have their day, that's what we're for. |
