Shi: By looking at the file, is it fair to say that LWIN is not doing well in Memphis as in other areas (e.g. Phoenix)? Well, that depends on what you call.. "Not doing well". After all.. There was supposed to be "No Demand" for Cricket type service! If you look in Phoenix. LWIN now has over 25 CO codes issued in SIX MONTHS OF SERVICE!! As compared to ATT Wireless which has about 32 CO codes for Phoenix. And ATT has been marketing wireless services in Phoenix.. HOW MANY YEARS? So let's take a look at Memphis. We have 976,263 covered POP's in the Memphis vs a 2000 licensed Population of 1,565,654 POP's. Or 63.3% coverage of licensed POP's. Given that Memphis now has 18 CO codes or 180,000 phone numbers available, and NANPA only issues additional Growth codes when a certain percentage of your existing codes are being utilized, and previous code utilization are calculated. 7% penetration would require 68,336 subs. 10% penetration would require 97,600 subs. With over 18 CO codes being issued. I feel confident that Memphis has achieved 10% penetration at this point.. Based on Growth of CO code assignments. Which is about a year ahead of plan.. Believe me.. There are markets that are below plan. Others that are "Way Above Plan". I can count the markets that are below planned penetration on one hand! PCSTEL
