it was more entertaining rather than informative. Scovel covered himself fairly well so matter which way it would go he would have the bragging rights.
My take is that intel version of x86-64 would likely to hurt intel more than it would hurt amd.
on the other topic - Enron and accounting
it seems that analysts pay more attention to accounting nower days and this is the 1st year for new intel's goodwill accounting. I already heard on bloomberg news sharp criticism of such accounting and even such strong wording as those companies that would adopt new rules are heading the same path as Enron. If I recall it correctly Intel wrote off over $1B last year. If new accounting would be in place that would be counted as earnings.
