You know, I was at home this morning, thinking about our great friend Saudi Arabia. Actually, I was thinking about the Super Bowl, but then I picked up the newspaper and there was this story about how Saudi Arabia was warming to Iraq's overtures to mend relations with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia and maybe even Iran to further their common interest in preserving Islam in the face of Western hegemony.
And I thought about Saudi Arabia, and how to avert this crisis maybe we should seek some common ground, bridge the gap between our cultures.
And then I thought to myself.....how come I only get to have one wife? <as my wife walked past>
Then my wife told me to take out the garbage, and I thought, why am I not telling her to take out the garbage?
And my kids got ready for school, and I thought.....if I was in the land of sand, I wouldn't have to send my daughters to school....hell, I'd probably already have a husband picked out for my ten-year old....no college costs either....
Then my wife got ready to leave for work, and I thought.....hey, wait a minute, she isn't supposed to be driving without my written permission.....and this work stuff...I dunno, shouldn't she be at home making sure (along with my other three wives) that my beer stays cold all day?
Then my wife backed the car out of the driveway and left without so much as asking me for permission to do so! I mean, we Westerners think we have it so good, and the woman just up and leaves without a note of permission from me! To a job I never authorized her in writing to get.
And as she was leaving, she asked me to pick up a loaf of bread on the way home as she would probably not have time. The nerve! Shouldn't she and my other wives be baking fresh bread for my Super Bowl party?
I gotta tell you, if we really take our friendship with Saudi Arabia seriously, there's gonna have to be some changes around this country. Big changes. |
