it was more entertaining rather than informative. Scovel covered himself fairly well so matter which way it would go he would have the bragging rights.
My take is that intel version of x86-64 would likely to hurt intel more than it would hurt amd. <<<<<<<<<

Which analyst reads our forum. Is it Scovel? I thought he put our discussion into his news release, but did little to settle it. As for which company it would hurt; I like to look at things in the positive or negative for AMD, as I don't buy Intel. Frankly, I believe, just as common standards have helped the computer industry, and memory makers, I think both AMD and Intel settling on 86-64 will help AMD set 86-64 as the industry standard, and thus help AMD garner more than 1/5 of industry sales; because AMD is the leader so far in 86-64. AMD can't get over 40% of the industry, with or without Intels help; because AMD doesn't have the fabs. But Intel settling on 86-64, could create great demand for 86-64,where Amd is the leader. Prestiege is everything, and AMD wouldn't even have to gain share, just get more comparable ASPS to make money. So I think it will help AMD.
