Little on Q&A: first, you can only hear the A's. Real convenient. Still Anixter only:
Started listening about 10 minutes in.
Anixter backpedaling about 300 mm question: don't need it yet, it'll be cheaper for AMD because the bugs will be out of it (didn't hear comparable argument about copper!!!).
Somebody actually asked about the 65 nanometer node: Anixter said AMD's next fab, which they will build with a partner, is for that node, and is for 2005. Before that, he said Dresden will be able to produce 50 million CPUs by end of year, so they can convert Austin to flash. I think the question may have been "is Dresden enough?". Didn't say how many good ones they'd get out of those 50M (maybe he meant 50M good ones).
Said AMD has the smallest die, the highest yields (Elmer!), and the lowest costs. So, not everyone at once, WHY AREN'T THEY MAKING MONEY!
Can't hear the question, but Anixter is answering "they can start 5,000 wafers a week, but they have to build for 0.13 and SOI. Maybe the question was like Elmer's?
